Wake Forest University Counseling Staff Leads Educational Session at ACES Conference in Denver
Several faculty members from Wake Forest University’s Department of Counseling braved the Colorado snow to attend the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) conference in Denver on October 17th through 20th. Six members of the Department of Counseling led an education session entitled ‘Integrating Treatment Planning Across the Curriculum: A Multicultural Approach.’ The presenters were Dr. Philip Clarke, Dr. Donna Henderson, Dr. Nathaniel Ivers, Dr. Debbie Newsome, Dr. Jennifer Rogers, and Dr. Jose Villalba. The group shared examples of how they use multiple approaches to infuse multiculturally-based treatment planning into Wake Forest’s counselor education program. Attendees had the opportunity to share their own stories about how treatment planning is incorporated into their school’s programs. The topic is a timely one, the presentation was well attended, and all of Wake Forest’s counselors returned home safely!
