Dr. Sam Gladding is the 2014 recipient of the Nathan and Julie Hatch Prize for Academic Excellence. Dr. Gladding was chosen for the award from a pool of eligible faculty from the undergraduate college, ZSR library, the School of Business, the Divinity school, the Medical school, and the Law school. The award includes a week of study at Oxford University’s Harris Manchester College. Dr. Gladding lived on campus at Oxford for the week, studying humor in counseling. He worked each day in the Bodliean library, which is Oxford’s main library, housing over 11 million items. The photo on the left was taken on the grounds of Leeds Castle, and the photo on the right is the interior of the Bodliean library. Congratulations to Dr. Gladding on receiving this prestigious award!
