Dr. Amy L. Grybush recently completed her junior faculty research leave. Prior to applying for tenure and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor, Wake’s Assistant Professors are granted a research leave. This opportunity provides tenure track faculty with a semester-long leave from teaching courses and serving on department committees; thus, enabling them to dedicate their time entirely to conducting research and preparing manuscripts for publication.

“My Spring 2026 research leave gave me the focused time to submit two manuscripts, begin analyzing data for a grant-funded study of wellness among addiction counselors, and make substantial progress on a manuscript about client loss. I also participated in the Faculty Success Program, which helped me build research habits and connections I will carry into future semesters. I’m grateful to the College for investing in my scholarly development and giving me the time to move this work forward.” -Dr. Amy L. Grybush

Dr. Grybush, we are glad you were able to take this time to focus so intensively on your research. We are also very happy to have you back in the classroom sharing your knowledge with our students!
