Congratulations to Dr. Seth Hayden on being appointed to the role of editor of the Career Development Quarterly (CDQ). He has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Counseling & Development since 2016 and of CDQ from 2019 to 2023, before transitioning to his current role as associate editor. Along with the out-going editor, Dr. Melinda Gibbons, he developed a detailed plan to address issues impacting the CDQ, which reduced response time for submissions and established a structure for the journal’s successful management going forward.

Dr. Seth Hayden

“I am deeply honored and excited to serve as editor of The Career Development Quarterly. I aim to maintain the long-standing reputation of the journal as a premier resource of career development and counseling research. Ensuring we continue to publish high quality scholarly work to expand our understanding of the complex nature of career development including its intersection with mental health will be a focus of my tenure. I am grateful to the National Career Development Association for this opportunity and my colleagues in the Wake Forest University Department of Counseling for their encouragement and support.”
